We specialize in quality spices and culinary herbs, flavoring the Hawaiian Islands at wholesale prices. Hand-packaged per order for quality freshness. Tradewinds Spice Company of Hawaii is proudly owned and operated locally on the island of Kauai since 1990.
Tradewinds Spice Company was the first original spice company on Kauai, founded in January 1990 by Martin Rice. While preparing a family dinner, Martin was unable to find locally any whole cumin for his spaghetti sauce. Realizing the amount of spices people of Kauai were unable to get locally, Martin and local chefs started working together creating their own specialty spice blends. Sales began from the back of his pickup truck at the local Farmers Markets. Word spread from family and friends to restaurant chefs island wide.
"I usually don’t rave unless something is so good it’s worth sharing, and I have to say the spices I received as a gift were so delicious I had to share. I am a professional caterer; which means cooking is my life and livelihood, so I am always looking for something new to try in my dishes. I was thrilled to receive this cute bag full of goodies and used them right away. I have to tell you not many food items wow me anymore, but let me tell you I was amazed, they are that good!
My first choice was to use the Anuenue 5 Kind Peppercorns and the Leilani’s Seasoning Salt in my Cucumber Feta salad. They gave it just the right punch. Next I tried the Koke`e Curry in a tofu scramble and it was perfect. I could go on and on so I’ll just close by saying I am hooked. I can’t say enough good things about these spices!
Thank you Tradewinds Spice Company, you have a new happy customer!"

"We have been using Tradewinds Spices Company of Hawaii at our house for the past 5 years. We love the blended spices. Our favorite is the Fajita Mix, we use it on meat, chicken, fish and egg dishes such as omelets and frittatas. Best of all the pricing fits right into our budget. Ordering is easy and the spices are available for delivery every Friday. What could be better?"
